The Clinton Herald Thursday March 21, 1918 p. 6 Funeral services for the late George W. Huston will be held at the family home, 500 Fourth avenue, at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. The interment will be at Springdale cemetery and will be private. Mr. Huston was born in Hamilton county, Ohio, on July 18th, 1838, where he was married on October 4th, 1859, to Mary L. Robinson. Together they came west, following the close of the Civil war, locating in Lee county, Illinois, and coming to Clinton in 1876. Here Mr. Huston was for many years identified with the drug interests of the city, retiring from active business in 1892. He spent the past twenty-five years of his life in the quiet enjoyment of his home, with all his family about him. He was of an optimistic temperament, the possessor of a cheerful disposition and unfailing good nature. He was an indulgent husband and father and lead a helpful Christian life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Clinton, of which he was at one time an elder, and was a Mason. Surviving him are his widow, two sons, James T. and William R., two daughters, Mary L. Huston and Mrs. Alfred C. Smith, one granddaughter, Mrs. Harold Kelly, and three great grandchildren. Two children, Eleanor M. and Paul A., preceded him in death. Patiently and cheerfully Mr. Huston endured his last illness of so many weeks and last Tuesday evening at 11:30 he quietly passed away at his home surrounded by his family.
