Conklin, Joseph J.

CLINTON — Joseph J. Conklin, age 58, of Clinton, died Monday Nov. 26, 2007, at Mercy North Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Oakland Cemetery. Joseph was born on Jan. 24, 1949, in Davenport, IA, the son of Joseph H. and Winifred (Snyder) Conklin. He married Bridget Babcock on Dec. 5, 1992, in Clinton. Joseph worked as a painter for local Union 676 from Davenport for over 16 years. He enjoyed working on car engines. Joseph is survived by his wife, Bridget, of Clinton; two children, Sherry Lee Conklin of Clinton and Richard Conklin of Davenport; five grandchildren; mother, Winnie Conklin of Clinton; three brothers, Bob (Janice) Conklin, Dick (Bonnie) Conklin and Kurt (Karla) Conklin all of Clinton; three sisters, Diana (Roger) Schumacher, Sandy (Carl) Chase and Star Fox all of Clinton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph in 1976.Death date: Nov. 26, 2007
