Witt, Ann C. Michels

HACKENSACK, Minn. — Ann C. Michels Witt, 76, of Hackensack, MN, formerly of Clinton, IA, died at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007, at her home.She was born March 17, 1931, in Bellevue, Iowa, the daughter of Anton and Irma (Mueller) Michels. She was baptized St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue on March 22, 1931. Ann was raised and educated in Bellevue, graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1949.Ann married Kenneth Witt at St. Joseph’s in Bellevue on April 24, 1954 and he survives.She was a homemaker and devoted mother and wife. She also worked at Rastrelli’s Restaurant in Clinton for 20 years before moving to Hackensack, MN. While in Hackensack she and Ken owned and operated the Birch Haven Resort for several years before retiring. She was an avid reader and card player.Surviving are her husband; 10 children, Stephen Witt of Marshfield, WI, Kathy (Mark) McGuire of Omaha, NE, Karen Witt of Clinton, IA, Michael Witt of Pewaukee, WI, Beverly (AL) McGuire of Monmouth, IL, David (Alex) Witt of Greeley, Co, Sue (Brian) Hutton of Sherard, IL, Jane (Jeff) Roth of Camanche, IA, Jean (Chris) Matheny of Clinton, IA, Mary (Joe) Michaelsen of Fulton, IL; 26 grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas (Lorraine) Michels of Bellevue, IA, and David (Christina) Michels of Sutton, Alaska; two sisters, Barbara (Wayne) Bainbridge of Bellevue, IA, and Jane (Len) Weber of St. Donatus, IA; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Michels.Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clinton, IA. Cremation will take place following the Mass. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home, South, 2610 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton, IA. Private committal services will be in St. Ireneaus Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Good Samaritan Home Care, Box 315, Nisswa, MN 56468.Death date: Nov. 18, 2007
