Edna A. Thomas, 92, of Clinton, died Tuesday at the Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with Rev. Jennifer Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Edna Annette Dirks was born on June 7, 1915 in Center Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Will and Margaret Dirks. She married Otis Thomas on June 14, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church; he later died January 6, 1973. Edna was employed as a seamstress with the Clinton Garment Company for 38 years; retiring in 1978. Edna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton AMVETS Auxiliary, and life long Chicago Cubs fan. Edna is survived by her daughter: Arlene Comstock of Bradenton, Florida; three grandchildren: Tim Comstock, Tom Comstock, and Jason (Megan) Comstock; three great-grandchildren: Logan Comstock, Keaton Comstock, and Brynn Comstock; one sister: Ruth Gerdes of Dixon, Illinois. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and four sisters. The family requests that memorials be made to the family.
