The Clinton Herald Friday December 15, 1978 p. 14 Mrs. Maria C. (Mayme) Wilke, 85, died Wednesday in Deacones Hospital, Glasgow, Mont., where she and her husband lived with their daughter. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Clinton, with the Rev. Wayne Brinkman officiating. Burial will be in Miles Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Shadduck-Cannon Funeral Home, and from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Robert Naeve, Donald Jensen, Dale Eickert, Wayne Still, Wayne Mommsen and Richard Schroeder. She was born July 10, 1893, in Andover, the daughter of Henry and Mary Knutsen Huebner. She married Emil Wilke Dec. 5, 1917, in Clinton. She lived almost her entire life in the Almont and Andover areas. She and her husband moved to Montana in June. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the church auxiliary, Miles American Legion Auxiliary and the Andover senior-citizens group. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Harlan and Werner, both of Clinton; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Bernetta) Goddard, Glasgow; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry Jr., Bellevue, and Alvin, Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
