Bentrup, Helen M.

CLINTON — Helen M. Bentrup, age 88, of Clinton, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at the Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19th at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Donald Medema, Jamie Miller, Chris Will and Marty Miller. Helen was born on March 6, 1919, in Delmar, Iowa, the daughter of Albert T. and Addie L. Elkins Thomas. She graduated from Delmar High School. Helen married Carl Bentrup on January 24, 1939, in Clinton. Carl died on July 5, 1982. Helen had been employed with Penny Printing Company in Clinton. She enjoyed gardening, especially her roses. Helen and Carl enjoyed spending time on the river. She loved her cats. Helen is survived by a nephew, Richard Tharp of New Smyrna Beach, FL; four great nieces and nephews including her caregiver, Cheryl Miller of Savanna, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and a niece. Death date: Nov. 14, 2007
