Piersol, Margaret "Dot"

MORRISON, Ill. — Margaret “Dot” Piersol, 85, of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the nursing home.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Winkelman, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Morrison, Ill., will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill. Memorials may be made to Avenue of Flags, Morrison, Ill.

She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Victoria (Allen) Meany. She graduated from the Oskaloosa school system in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She married George W. Piersol on July 10, 1949, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He died on July 5, 1998. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Morrison American Legion Post 328 Ladies Auxiliary where she was past president. She was a devoted volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Drive. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin on the Mississippi River with family and friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane McKim of Windsor, Conn., Vicky (Mrs. Ed) Murney of Morrison, Ill.; one son, John (Pam) Piersol of Albany, Ill.; four grandchildren, Krista McKim, Lisa (Mrs. Jason) King, Karen (Mrs. Bart) Arnold and Amy (Mrs. John) Chladek; seven great-grandchildren, Parker Ann and Marisa Chladek, Haylee and Hunter King and Tucker, Grace and Saige Arnold; and one sister, Mrs. Gloria Grams of Morrison, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George and one sister, Mary Pittman.
