CAMANCHE — Edward Medema, 87, of 2820 Oakridge Road, Camanche, Iowa, and formerly of Morrison, Ill., died Sunday, November 4, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, Ill. The Rev. Phil Stel, associate pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Clinton, Iowa, or Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, Ill.

He was born September 22, 1920, in Thomson, Ill., to Jake and Helen Temple Medema. He was educated in Morrison, Ill., grade schools. He married Johanna Vanderlaan on December 3, 1943, in Morrison, Ill. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.He was employed by Groharing Construction, Morrison, Ill., and later by General Electric, Morrison, Ill., where he retired from in 1980. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church where he served as an usher for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, fishing, and watching his grandkids participate in sports.

Survivors include his wife, Johanna; one daughter, Peggy (Mrs. Kevin) Jenkins of Camanche, Iowa; one son, Keith (Pam) Medema of Sterling, IIl.; three grandchildren, Jenni (Mrs. Louie) DeMay, David (Erin) Jenkins and Kendra Jenkins; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Temple of Fulton, Ill., and Erma (Mrs. J.D.) McDevitt of Covington, Tenn.; two brothers, George (Sharon) Medema of Prophetstown, Ill., and Jake (Eleanor) Medema Jr. of Fulton, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
