Evelyn A. Bowling, age 78, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Sunday morning, October 21, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, October 25, 2007, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa, with Chaplain/Celebrant Rev. Ruth Ann Scott of Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Streets Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa.

Evelyn A. Keeney was born on November 28, 1928 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to William Keeney and Clara (Nally) Keeney. She attended Maquoketa Schools. She married Kenneth Bowling on December 14, 1946 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1993.

Evelyn had worked on the assembly at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for many years. She then worked at RonAnn's Floral Shoppe in Maquoketa, and lastly doing janitorial services with her husband at The Loft in Maquoketa.

Evelyn was a former member of the Eagles Club in Maquoketa. She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo with her friends at Whitetail Run. She loved her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was especially close to her great-grandson, Trey. She was known by her family as a strong and caring woman.

Evelyn is survived by: children- Barbara (Mrs. Mike) Sherwin of Orange, TX, Sue Kirk of Maquoketa, IA, & Bill (Deb) Bowling of Maquoketa, IA; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother- Jay (Donna) Keeney of Maquoketa, IA; & 2 sisters- Beverly Chumbley of Manchester, TN, & Linda (Mrs. Roger) Kessel of Camanche, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers- Gene & Jerry, & a sister- Connie.

An Evelyn A. Bowling Memorial Fund has been established.
