Hartwich, Judy (Himes)

Judy (Himes) Hartwich, 63, of Davenport, died Thursday October 25, 2007 at the Clarissa C. Cooke Hospice House. Visitation will be held at the Rafferty Funeral Home 2111 First Street A, Moline, IL on Sunday from 1-4 pm. Funeral services will be held 10 am on Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Moline. Following the service there will be a reception at Culeman’s Hall where the family will greet friends. Burial will be a private family celebration of Judy’s life and her commitment to her family.

Judy was born April 11, 1944 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Eileen Hoopman. She had been employed by Verizon Conferencing Center, Davenport, until her illness in 2006. Judy was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She spent many hours helping family and friends with sewing and craft projects. Her greatest joy was making quilts for her children and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Gilda’s Club and The Clarissa C. Cooke Hospice House for their support and care. Judy found great comfort and peace at your hands.

Those left to honor Judy’s memory are her four children and their families: Jon, Diana, and Alec Himes, Moline, IL; Becky (Himes), Joel and Sayer Gregg, Parker, CO; Brad, Wendy, Liam Himes, Parker, CO; Tom, Rachel, Ian, Caitlin, McKenzie, Walker, and Isabella Himes, Tipton, IA. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Ken Drish, Cedar Raids, IA; Jean and Bob Vobr, Cresco, IA and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Cindy Hoopman, Apple Valley, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
