Oberman, Joyce M.

Joyce M. Oberman age 68 of Clinton, died Wednesday Oct. 17, 2007 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 AM at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be family and friends of Joyce.

Joyce was born on June 9, 1939 in LeClaire, IA, the daughter of Leo and Hilda (Bryan) Shipley. She graduated from Dewitt High School in 1957. She married Ray Oberman on Dec. 7, 1957 in Downey, CA, he died in 1994. Joyce was a homemaker and had worked at the Super 8 Hotel. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Doreen Oberman of Galesburg, IL; her son, Darrell Oberman of Garden Plain, IL; two grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel; her sister, Mrs. Juanita (Charles) Ettinger of Clinton; her sister-in-law, Betty Shipley of Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, sister, Eileen Scharff in 2000, and a brother, Donald Shipley in 1996.
