Jackson, Glenn D.

Glenn D. Jackson, 79, of Clinton, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Harmony House, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Stacy Grau officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Serving as pallbearers will be the grandchildren: Joshua Duey, Jonathan Duey, Katie Zapata, Angela Neve, Luke Neve, Emily Neve, Rebecca Jackson, and Kyle Jackson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Glenn D. Jackson was born on June 30, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Earl and Viola (Landguth) Jackson. He married Virginia Bengtson on April 14, 1951 in Clinton, Iowa. Glenn was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. He also attended Clinton Community College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. Glenn farmed north of Clinton for over 50 years; he also worked in construction. Glenn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a former member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department, and Farm Bureau.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Clinton; two daughters: Linda (John) Jorgensen of Clinton, Julie (Dave) Neve of Des Moines, Iowa; two sons: Dan Jackson (Alan Clark) of Armonk, New York; and Bill (Linda) Jackson of Clinton, Iowa; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lora Pennington, of Seal Beach, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.

The family requests that memorials be made to Zion Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Harmony House.
