Untiedt Sr., Harvey L.

MAQUOKETA — Harvey L. Untiedt Sr., 63, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1943, in Davenport to Willis and Fern Arlene Miere Untiedt. He married Sandra Lou White on July 9, 1964, in Moline, Ill. He received his education in Eldridge. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army serving in the Bay of Pigs. He was a truck driver for 28 years with BTI, Inc., Des Moines, and did siding construction with Harvey L. Untiedt Home Improvement, farmed in Clinton and Jackson counties and did custom work. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Davenport, and the Silver Spurs Saddle Club. He also raised horses and miniature horses.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Dianna Atkinson of DeWitt; one son, Harvey LaVern (Penney Evans) Untiedt Jr. of Maquoketa; three grandchildren; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
