ELIZABETH, Ill. — Barbara J. Meyer, 73, of Elizabeth, died Thursday at her home.

ELIZABETH, Ill. — Barbara J. Meyer, 73, of Elizabeth, died Thursday at her home.Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Elizabeth.

She was born Nov. 10, 1933, in Aurora, Ill., to John and Ruth Ann Lorenz Hankes. She married Wayne Meyer at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Aurora, Ill.She graduated from Madonna Catholic High School, Aurora, Ill., on Sept. 6, 1952.She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne of Elizabeth; one son, Bill Meyer of Lombard, Ill.; two daughters, Sue (Jim) Grommes of Hanover, Ill., and Cindy (Ron) Simik of Bollingbrook, Ill.; one brother, Jim (Laurel) Hankes of Aurora; three sisters, Mary (Marvin) Hauge of Montgomery, Ill., Charlotte (Dave) Britton of Aurora, Janet (Donald) Yehle of Janesville, Wis.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
