SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, with Pastor Shannon Witt officiating.

TEEDS GROVE — Simon Herman Cassaday Jr., 77, of Fulton, Ill., formerly of Teeds Grove, died Thursday at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. Burial will be the Miles Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 26, 1929, to Simon and Lena (Pogeman) Cassaday in Green Island. He married Betty Ann Webber on April 30, 1951. She died in 1995. On Oct. 11, 1997, he married Lou Ann (Lehmkuhl) Smith. He attended Green Island schools, and graduated from Miles High School in 1947. He managed the Teeds Grove Bank for several years, and worked as an insurance agent for Tietjen’s Insurance. He also worked at the Savanna Army Depot.He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, of Andover, and the Andover Lyons Club.

Survivors include, his wife; five sons, Bruce (Becky) Cassady of Camanche, Gary (Gail) Cassaday of Clinton, Dale (Julia) Cassaday of Sabula, Scott (Mary) Cassaday of Clinton, and Phillip (Shelley) Cassaday of Clinton; two stepsons, Donald (Mary) Goodridge and Robert (Dawn) Goodridge, both of Clinton; one stepdaughter, Sherry (Robert) Tober of Wheaton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, and one granddaughter.
