The Clinton Herald Monday June 24, 1991 p. 12 Hazel A. Atkinson, 89, of Port Byron, died Saturday in Illini Hospital, Silvis. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Atkinson was born Oct. 2, 1901, in Clinton, to Marshall and Harriett Potter Judd. She married Robert L. Atkinson, Nov. 11, 1919, in Clinton. He died in 1969. She was a member of Port Byron Congregational Church and its Dorcus Society. She was a 54 year member of the Port Byron American Legion Auxiliary, was past president of the Port Byron PTA and a member of the Mothers of World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Arlynn Sallows of Port Byron; three sons, Robert Jr. and Laurence, both of Port Byron, and Melvin of Kingston, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Death date: June 22, 1991.
