Sauer, Margaret P.

Margaret P. Sauer, 91, of Morrison, Illinois, died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Sauer family home on West Wall Street.

A service will be held on Sunday, October 7 at 1:00 P.M. at the Clinton Universalist Unitarian Fellowship at 309 30th Ave. N., Clinton, Iowa 52732.

Miss Sauer grew up in Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan.Throughout her childhood, she spent many happy days visiting her grandparents, aunts and uncles in the Morrison home. The home was built by her grandfather, the owner of the hardware store on Main Street. Her father, Alfred Sauer, was born and raised in Morrison.Soon after she moved into the home in 1993, she added an art studio to the property. Friends gathered here several times a week to paint and appreciate the arts. Many members of the “Grape Street Studio,” including Miss Sauer, won awards for artistic acheivements.

Margaret Sauer is survived by her brother, A. Bruce Sauer, of Dayton Beach, Florida and her sister, Ruth Wallace, of Tucson, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.She leaves a legacy of friendship and fellowship through art.
