SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miles 1st Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Warholder officiating.

MILES - Beverly Anne Murphy, 65, of Miles, died Thursday at University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics.A luncheon will follow services at the church. Graveside services will be held following the luncheon at 4 p.m. in Washington, Iowa.

She was born August 10, 1942, in Washington, to Lawrence and Geneva Shebeck Howell. She married Tom Murphy on June 18, 1966.She graduated from Columbus Junction High School in 1960, and received a bachelor’s in home economics from Iowa Wesleyan College, in Mt. Pleasant.She taught home economics in Miles from 1964 to 1968, and in Clinton for two years, and was a substitute teacher for more than 25 years.She was a member of the Miles Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband; her children Jason (Collette) Murphy of Olathe, Kan., and Heather (Russ) Wilke of St. Paul, Minn.; her sister, Barbara (Roger) McAllister of Mt. Union; her brother, Everette (Nancy) Howell of Letts; and five grandchildren.
