The Clinton Herald Friday June 16, 1978 p. 12 Jens (Curly) Raun Jr., 87, 1704 Iowa Ave., died Thursday in Jane Lamb Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Grote of Chancy Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is today from 3 to 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Erwin Giss, Lyle Utroska, Walter Furgason, Charles Hoffman, Felix Martin and William Luckritz. Mr. Raun was born Dec. 24, 1890, in Clinton, the son of Jens and Marie Raun Sr. He married Esther Meinke on May 27, 1914, in Clinton. She died in 1957. He was yardmaster in the traffic department of Clinton Corn Processing Co., retiring in 1957 after 34 years of employment. The lifelong Clinton resident was a member of Clinton Corn's 25-year club and the Congregational Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Cave of St. Charles, Mo. and Mrs. Edmund (Frances) Melchert of Clinton; four grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and one brother, Henry of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his wife, seven sisters and one brother.
