Erma Marie Eggers Jorgensen, 91, a resident of Cottage Grove Place died Thursday, September 20, 2007, at the Cottage Grove Place Health Center following an extended illness.

Services at 10:30 Tuesday in First Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum officiating. Graveside services and interment at 2:30 PM Tuesday in Springdale Cemetery in Clinton. Friends may call at First Lutheran Church from 9:30 to service time on Tuesday.Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son James and wife Susan of State Center, Iowa, a grandson Jeffrey Jorgensen and wife Brenda and their daughter Amelia of Del Ray Beach, Florida, a granddaughter Rachel Bangs and husband T. J. and their two sons Cale and Alex of Huxley, Iowa, her brother Raymond Eggers and wife Jeanette of R.R. Clinton, and many beloved nieces and nephews who always remembered to include Aunt Erma in their weddings, birthdays, and family events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years Harold, and her beloved brothers Edward, Clifford, Peter, and Leonard Eggers.

Erma was born October 26, 1915 in Clinton, Iowa, to Hans and Emma Joens Eggers. She graduated from High School in Clinton, Iowa. She married Harold H. Jorgensen on December 8, 1937, in Clinton, Iowa. He died October 26, 2004. She worked for Dr. J. C. Dunn as a dental assistant and receptionist for many years in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Shrine Auxiliary. She enjoyed golfing and wintering in Florida during retirement.Erma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
