Jayne M. Hardy, 83, of Clinton, IA, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center - North Campus in Clinton, IA. Private graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Public visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the National Cemetery. Jayne was born on May 5, 1924, in Marion, IL, the daughter of Oscar and Gladys (Moore) Grace. She was educated in the Rock Island Schools. She married Joseph B. “Joe” Hardy October 18, 1942 in Rock Island, Illinois. She was a homemaker and had been employed in the dietary department at Mercy Hospital for several years prior to retiring. She was a member of AMVETS Women’s Auxiliary, Post #28, Clinton. Survivors include her son, Jeff (Sue) Hardy of Clinton, IA; daughter, Jill Hardy of Clinton, IA and daughter, Judith S. (John) Drabik of Key Largo, Florida; 7 grandchildren, James, Connie, Tamera, Jennifer, Erika, Alex and Dalton and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
