Bentz, Larue C.

Larue C. Bentz, 83, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Sun Valley Lodge Care Center, Sun City, Arizona. Larue Bentz was born on June 6, 1924 in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University, with an Engineering degree in 1949. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed as an Engineer at DuPont for 33 years. He served on the Clinton School Board from 1972 to 1979, as president from 1975 to 1979. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Clinton, Iowa and an affiliate member of First Presbyterian Church, Sun City, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 54 years June (Holmes) Bentz; two daughters, Joan, of Richfield, Minnesota and Barbara, of Gilbert, Arizona; son, David, of Madrid, Spain; and three grandsons Bryan, Kyle and Troy Bentz, of Burnsville, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother. A memorial service will be on August 25th at 1:30pm at Springdale Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the First United Presbyterian Church.
