M. J. MYERS OF LOW MOOR DIES - Date of death 11/16/1937

M. J. Myers, 63, died in his home here at 5 p.m. yesterday, exactly one year after he was brought home from work suffering with a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Hanrahan-Fitzpatrick funeral home in DeWitt, where the body reposes. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery, DeWitt. The Rev. D.D.Whitmore, of Low Moor, will officiate.
Marcellus John Myers was born Jan. 9, 1875, in Janesville, Wis., the son of M.B. and Maryetta Bates Myers. On Sept. 29, 1894, he was married to Hattie Leeman of Andalusia, Ill., and for the last 40 years the couple made their home in this vicinity.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Harksen of DeWitt and Mrs. Mary Anderson of Davenport; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Will of DeWitt and Ray of Barrington, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Pelham of Clinton and Mrs. Ralph Howard of Janesville, Wis.
For the last 35 years Mr. Myers was employed by the DeWitt, later the Iowa Telephone Company
