WILLIAM S. MYERS
William S. Myers of Janesville, Wisconsin, well known former DeWitt resident, died about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in his home, seven miles from Janesville. He had been in ill health for some time but died suddenly.
The body arrived today at the McGinnis funeral home, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Dwight Webster of the Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
William Stoddard Myers was born Aug. 30, 1881, in Rockford, Ill., a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.B.Myers. He was a resident of DeWitt for about 40 years, and for 37 years was employed by the Iowa State Telephone company. He served as manager for the company in this area for 20 years, retiring on April 1, 1945, at which time he moved to his farm near Janesville. On Aug. 26, 1931 he was married to Harriet Lincoln in Rock Island, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Roy Pelham, Clinton, and Mrs. Christeen Howard, Janesville, Wis. Preceding him in death were parents, one sister and three brothers.
