Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Davis, died at 11PM last night in her home, 103 2nd Ave, South where she had lived more than 50 years. WIth her at the time of death were a niece, Mrs. W. G McAllister and a daughter, Mrs. W (May) B. Masecar of Spokane WA who had come to Clinton to be with Mrs. Davis on her 86th birthday earlier this month.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday in the Rockwell mortuary. Burial will be in Sprindale cemetery, beside her husband, George Washington Davis, who died June 2, 1923. The Rev Harry E Harned will officiate.

Harriet Richardson was born the daughter of Joseph H. and Martha (Van Dusen) Richardson, July 12, 1850 in Otsigo, Clinton Co. Mi. She was married in 1867 at Freeport MI to George W. They came with their five eldest children to Clayton Co first then CLinton in a covered wagon in the mid 1870's.

A resident of CLinton for more than half a century, she was the oldest member in point of service in Gen N B Baker Women's Relief COrps and was past president and life chaplain of that organization. She was life chaplain of Clara Barton Circle 5, Ladies of the GAR and an honorary member of Sophronia Risden Tent 51, Daughters of Union Veterans.

Proceeding Mrs. Davis in death were nine children including three sons, Arthur, Joseph H. and William, and two daughters, Mrs. Hazel CUnningham and Mrs. Minnie (William) McAllister.

She is survived by Theordore Davis, Benjamin F Davis of Sterling Il, May Masecar of Spokane, Gertrude Lewis of Chicago, Faye Hoffman of Venice California and Herbert Davis of Detroit as well as grand children and great grand children.
