SERVICES: Private.

CLINTON — Robert Lee Lowther, 81, of Clinton, died Sunday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 3, 1925, in Missouri Valley to John Lee and Grace Mae Crouse Lowther. He married Jeanne Gage on May 7, 1955, at St. Irenaeus Church, Clinton.

He was a 1943 graduate of Lyons High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was employed as a time keeper and union representative with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 41 years.

He was a 4-H leader.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Brian (Deb) Lowther of Willmar, Minn.; two daughters, Brenda (Al) Welsch of Solon and Gwen (Bill) Emmert of Delmar; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; and one sister, Marge (Marty) Jacobsen of Clinton.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Death date: Feb. 11, 2007
