DIXON, Ill. — Walter F. Gieson, 84, of Dixon and formerly of Chadwick, Ill., died Wednesday at KSB Hospital, Dixon.
Burial will be in Chadwick Cemetery.
He was born March 28, 1922, to Fred and Mattie Hubbard Gieson in Norcross, Minn. He married Betty Law on Jan. 1, 1944, in Chadwick.
He graduated from Chadwick High School in 1942.
He farmed near Chadwick. He and his wife lived in Mesa, Ariz., from 1977 to 1992. While in Mesa, he worked as a plumber.
He was a charter member of Chadwick Evangelical Free Church. He served 16 years on the church board, including the past five years as an elder.
Survivors include his wife; one sister in-law, Patricia Gieson of Dixon; and several nieces and nephews.
