SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Wierenga, pastor of Garden Plain Presbyterian Church, officiating.
LECLAIRE — Ruth M. Hook, 85, of LeClaire and formerly of Garden Plain, Ill., and rural Fulton, Ill., died Sunday at Trinity Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf.
Interment will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
She was born June 26, 1921, in Clinton County to Henry and Anna Koch Schroeder. She married Epa Hook on Oct. 6, 1940, in Clinton. He died in 1979.
She was educated in rural Clinton County schools.
During World War II, she was employed as a nurse’s aid at Schick Hospital, Clinton, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Garden Plain Presbyterian Church, Fulton, and the Clinton Moose Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Richard A. (Jo Ann) Hook of Henderson, Nev.; two grandchildren; one sister, Shirlie (Donald) Schlotfelt of Cortez, Colo.; and her companion, Adolph “Bud” Dhooge of LeClaire.
