The Clinton Herald Tuesday March 12, 1951 p. 12 Mrs. Sadie Iten Scribner, 74, of Los Angeles, Calif., who was the last surviving member of the widely-known Iten family generation that came to Clinton in 1892, died Monday in her home in Los Angeles. The body will be brought to Clinton and funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Bragonier-Fay funeral chapel. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Other funeral arrangements are incomplete. She was born March 28, 1876, in Davenport, the daughter of Louis and Theresa Ziegler Iten. Her parents brought the family to Clinton in 1892. That year the father and his sons started the famed biscuit company known as L. Iten & Sons, which later became the Iten Biscuit company. Miss Sadie Iten married D. Frederick Scribner May 7, 1895, and they lived here until 1915 when they moved to Davenport. After he died in 1931, she moved to Los Angeles. The members of her immediate family who preceded her in death besides her parents, were four brothers, Louis C., John J., William, and Frank J., and two sisters, Anna and Mrs. Lizzie Burrell.
