Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Pape Funeral Home with a vigil service at 2:45 p.m.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Church, with the Rev. Anthony Herold officiating.

CLINTON — Thomas E. Hansen, 80, of Clinton, died Thursday at Mercy North Hospital in Clinton.

Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery with military rites by the AMVETS. Pallbearers will be Jack Smith, Dwayne Van Buer, Bob Hackett, Allen McClimon, Virgil Buntemeyer and LeRoy Buntemeyer.

He was born June 19, 1926 in Clinton, to Arthur and Mary Mae Breen Hansen. He married Mary “Cookie” McClimon on June 30, 1951, at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton.

He graduated from Lyons High School in 1944.

He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II.

Following the war, he attended Iowa State College.

He owned and operated M & T Construction in Clinton for more than 40 years. He retired in 1989.

He was a member of the AMVETS and the Fulton Country Club.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Thomas J. Hansen of Ames, Timothy (Bernie) Hansen of Seabring, Fla., Mary Ann (Jerry) Hyatt of Stockton, Calif., John G. (Jane) Hansen of Overland Park, Kan., and James P. Hansen of Rochester N.Y.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
