Robert E. “Bob” Schwager

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, with a vigil service at 4 p.m.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Andrew.

MAQUOKETA — Robert E. “Bob” Schwager, 60, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at his home.

Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Andrew.

He was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Maquoketa to Sylvester B. and Martha Sprank Schwager. He married Marla Herrig on April 20, 1968 in Bellevue.

He graduated in 1965 from Marquette High School in Bellevue.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He worked at Brock Lumber in Maquoketa for many years and farmed all of his life in Jackson County.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Andrew, Jackson County Pork Producers and Jackson County Cattleman’s Association.

Survivors include a son, Brian (Kathy Thul) Schwager of Dubuque; two daughters, Stacy (Jason) Wolf of Cedar Rapids and Stephanie Schwager of Maquoketa; three grandchildren; his companion, Audrey Potter of Maquoketa; one sister, Jane (Steve) Kiebel, Dubuque; and two brothers, Donald (Joanne) Schwager of New Liberty and David (Alice) Schwager of Maquoketa.

Memorials are preferred.
