SERVICES: Private family services were held today at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.
CAMANCHE — Robert L. Sullivan, 82, of Camanche, died Sunday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton.
Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery, Clinton, where military honors will be conducted by the Clinton AMVETS.
He was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Clinton to Leo and Amine Trainer Sullivan. He married Betty Friis on Oct. 31, 1946, in Clinton. She died in 1997.
He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He served on the USS Savannah CL-42 and the USS Swenson DD-729. He received a Purple Heart.
He attended the Catholic Church of the Visitation.
Survivors include one son, Daniel Sullivan of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Julie (Frank) Tucker of Clinton; two grandchildren; and one brother, Leland (Mildred) Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two half sisters.
