Ronald Eugene “Ron” Veit

SERVICES: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

DENVER, Colo. — Ronald Eugene “Ron” Veit, 74, of Denver and formerly of Maquoketa, died Dec. 11.

There will be a private family burial on Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating.

He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Maquoketa to George “Jack” and Leota Raab Veit. He married Barbara Lindblad on Aug. 22, 1954, in Maquoketa.

He was a 1950 graduate of Maquoketa High School. He attended the University of Iowa.

He served four years in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a salesman and spent many years in motel management in California and Colorado. He also owned and operated a ski rental and sales shop in Maquoketa for several years.

He was involved with the Maquoketa Little League baseball program.

Survivors include his wife; children, Ronelle (Dean) Burmeister of Clinton, Lisa (David) Woznicki of St. Charles, Mo., and Tom (Lynette Keil) Veit and Steve Veit, both of Denver; two grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Richard Lindblad of Potomac, Md.

The family requests no flowers.
