FENTON, Ill. — Maurice E. Blasdell, 68, of Fenton, died Sunday at Mercy North Hospital.
Burial will be in Fenton Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Sterling, Ill., to Ray C. and Edna I. Jackson-Blasdell. He married Gloria Collins on July 3, 1961, in Salem, Ark. She died in 1985.
He was employed with Drives Inc., Fulton, Ill., before retiring in 2000 after 28 years of service. He also farmed and custom farmed with his father and brothers.
Survivors include his children, Mark Blasdell, Kenneth (Dawn) Blasdell and Diana (Bob) VanRiet, all of Morrison, Ill.; brothers, Dale (Maria) Blasdell of Morrison, Roger (Carmen) Blasdell of Albany, Ill., and Donald “Butch” (Sandy) Blasdell of Clinton; sisters, Betty VanMeter of Rock Falls, Ill., Pearl Blasdell and Carol “Nancy” Shafer, both of Morrison; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his companion with whom he shared his home, Bernice Misfeldt.
A memorial fund has been established.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
