ERIE, Ill. — Hubert H. Cardwell, 80, of Erie, died Tuesday at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Ill.
Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Cardwelltown, Va. He married Judith Russell Hall on Sept. 26, 1997, in Morrison, Ill.
He retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire, Sterling, Ill., in 1981 after 33 years of service. He owned and operated the Glass Rail, Erie, since 1995.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Terry Lindsay of Clinton, Susan Lee Cardwell of Paducah, Ky., Darla Kay Jennings of Clinton, Lois Pence of Fulton, Ill., and Teresa Madsen of Erie; sons, Clyde Cardwell of Morrison and Jeffrey Cardwell of Naperville, Ill.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara O’Neal of New Mexico; and one brother, Clyde Cardwell of Rock Falls, Ill.
A memorial fund has been established.
