Death of James TALLETT

Pioneer Resident and Manufacturer Passes Away Saturday Morning.

Was Business Man in Lyons for Many Years -- Funeral Will be Held Tuesday Afternoon.

James Talbett, a pioneer resident and business man on the North side passed away at his home about nine o'clock Saturday evening.

Residing in the city of Lyons since 1852, when the city was then one of the prospering towns on the banks of the Mississippi, Mr. TALLETT had won the respect and esteem of all who had been connected with him as a business man and manufacturer, and the sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to his wife and eight remaining children.

Born in England in 1820 he spent most of his younger days in that country where he married Miss Isabell King ELLIS after which he came to this country and settled in Lyons where he started a brick factory of which he retired as superintedant twenty years ago.

He was a charter member of the first I. O. O. F. lodge formed in the city and took much interest in the order.

He is survived by his wife and eight children, Thomas H., William G., and John of Lyons; Mrs. Earl ANTHONY of Camanche, Mrs. F. M. ROBERTS of this city, James S. TALLETT of Marshalltown, Mrs. Horace ALLARD of Marshalltown, and Mrs. S. P. MAYNARD of Traer.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p. m. in charge of the Rev. T. W. JONES of Grace church, Lyons. The interment will be made at Oakland.
