SERVICES: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, with the Rev. Gaylor Nelson officiating.
MAQUOKETA — Elda M. Cornelius, 99, of Maquoketa and formerly of Andrew, died Sunday at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.
Burial will be in Andrew Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 21, 1906, near Andrew to William and Lena Anna Eckhurst Kokemuller. She married Edgar C. Cornelius, on Feb. 12, 1941, in Maquoketa. He died in 1987.
She was educated in Jackson County rural country schools.
She was a homemaker and also farmed with her husband northwest of Andrew until they retired to Maquoketa in 1981.
She was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, where she taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years. She also was a member of the WELCA.
Survivors include one son, Ronald (Elaine) Cornelius of Maquoketa; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
