SERVICES: Private services will be Friday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

SAVANNA, Ill. — Junior T. “Pat” Gilbert, 78, of Savanna, died Monday at his home.

Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Savanna.

He was born Sept. 8, 1928, to Thomas J. and Augusta W. Dumbach Gilbert in Warroad, Minn. He married Cecelia M. Parker on Dec. 26, 1950, in Clinton.

He was a member of Heavy Equipment Operator’s Union 150 and was employed with Herbert-Shelly Construction, Hanover, Ill., for more than 35 years before retiring in 1979.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Thomas (Barbara) Gilbert of Savanna; nine daughters, Marilyn (Matthew) Altensy and Vickie Trybus, both of Savanna, Karin Molinari of Rockford, Ill., Pamela (Salvador) Mendez, Doreen (Butch Miller) Gilbert and Gail Ann Themas, all of Savanna, Cathy (Kyle Koeller) Eagle of Lanark, Ill., and Kim (Jeff) Knouse and Cece (Michael) Mallow, both of Savanna; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one niece.
