SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation, with the Rev. Keith Larson and Pastoral Associate Barbara Tobiason officiating.
LOST NATION — Lois E. Schroeder, 77, of Lost Nation, died Saturday at the Maquoketa Care Center.
Burial will be in Lost Nation Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her children, Dennis, James, Duane, Randy and Alan Schroeder and Susan Zeller and her grandchildren.
She was born July 12, 1929, in Massillon Township to William H. and Ella Lange Steinke. She married Wilbert J. “Gus” Schroeder on Oct. 25, 1947, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation. He died in 1998.
She graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1946.
She was a clerk with Lost Nation Plumbing and Heating.
She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation, where she served as secretary and treasurer. She was an active community volunteer. She volunteered for the Lost Nation Scoop, food pantry and Meals on Wheels. She was an officer with the A.A.L. and was a member of many card clubs.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Dana) Zeller of Lost Nation; five sons, Dennis (Phyllis) Schroeder of Cheyenne, Wyo., Randy (Anna) Schroeder of Riverdale, Ga., James (Sally) Schroeder of Lost Nation, Duane “Dunes” Schroeder of Baldwin and Alan (Kelly) Schroeder of Lost Nation; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth (Marcella) Steinke of DeWitt.
