Visitation: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Wyoming United Methodist Church. Lahey Funeral and Cremation Services, Wyoming, is in charge of arrangements.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Shepherd Karmen Jamison officiating.

WYOMING, Iowa — Mary E. Thomsen, 96, of Wyoming, died Thursday at the Anamosa Care Center.

Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 2, 1910, in Madison Township, rural Wyoming, to John and Millie Phelps Strong. She married William Paul Thomsen on Dec. 22, 1932, in Clinton. He died in 1965.

She attended rural country schools and in 1930 graduated from Wyoming High School.

She was a caretaker and companion for area residents who were ill or in need. She also worked in local restaurants and helped her husband on the farm.

She was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers.
