SERVICES: 1 p.m. Friday at Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the AMVETS. Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

DWIGHT, Ill. — Kenneth F. Jensen, 87, of Dwight and formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Dwight.

He was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Bettendorf to Carl Henry and Charlotte Theresa Bruellisauer Jensen.

He graduated from Lyons High School in 1938.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army on April 22, 1941, and was a World War II veteran serving until Oct. 5, 1945, with an honorable discharge. During his service he was attached to the 634th Tank Destroyer Battalion with the 185th Field Artillery Division. During his time of service overseas he was engaged in battles and conflicts in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. His decorations included: the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, one Silver Battle Star, three overseas service bars and one service stripe.

He married Mildred E. Kammerer on March 27, 1945. She preceded him in death.

He was employed with E.I. DuPont for 31 years before retiring in 1979.

Survivors include two daughters, Marchene (Leonard) Fisher of Morris, Ill., and Deb (Jerry) Lee of Dade, Fla.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Gladys) Jensen of Clinton; two sisters, Pauline (Harold) Bond of Bloomington, Ind., and Janet Cleary of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Heritage Manor Nursing Home, 300 Mazon Ave., Dwight, IL 60420, Attn: Randy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
