Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Open Door.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Lemke Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

CLINTON — Vallie L. Powell, 67, of Clinton, died Wednesday at her home.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mathew Powell, Thomas Burns, Scott and Josh Judge, Jason Jaeger, Tim Pease, Leonard Pease, Matthew Clark, Frank Feldt, Jerry Smith, Louie Meder and Rick Stamp.

She was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Griffith, Ind., to Martin and Lorene Mills Kriebs. She married Robert M. Powell on Aug. 21, 1954.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1957.

She was employed with Mercy Hospital.

She was a member of the Church of the Open Door and the Women of the Moose.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Gary) Creecy of Clinton and Diane (Michael) Burns of Cedar Rapids; a son, Robert (Penny) Powell of Clinton; three sisters, Patricia (Walt) Hudson of Coats, N.C., Sylvia Bartels of Clinton and Judy (Ron) Nissen of Illinois; one brother, Ted (Judy) Townsend of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren.
