Anna E. Wasmund

Anna E. Wasmund, age 95, of Galena, Illinois and formerly of Scales Mound, Illinois died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa, after a short illness.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home in Galena with Pastor Doug Hall officiating. Burial: Scales Mound Township Cemetery. Visitation: 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Miller & Steinke Funeral Home in Galena. Mrs. Wasmund was born on October 25, 1911 near Schapville, IL. the daughter of August and Lena (Bottner) Stauss. She married Ben Wasmund on April 30, 1931. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1975,

They were farmers in the Schapville area until moving to Scales Mound. Anna was a member of the Scales Mound Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker while raising (7) children. Later in life she worked at Burgess Battery in Galena and retired from Micro-Switch in Warren, IL.

Survivors: 2-Daughters: Marion Hoyer, Sabula, IA., and Carolyn Henson, Clinton, Iowa- (4)-Sons: Gerald (Donna), James and Wayne (Janice) all of Galena, Illinois and Lynn of Cedarville, IL. 33-Grandchildren, 80-Great Grandchildren and 54-Great-Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Stanley, son-in-law John Hoyer, Sr., 4-Grandchildren, 1-Great-Great Grandson, two brothers, John and Earl Stauss, two sisters, Mayme Klenke and Hannah Genzler.
