Harold Richard “Dick” Abbott

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Church of the Open Door, Clinton. Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 10:30 am Saturday at the church with the Rev. James Machen, pastor of Church of the Open Door, and the Rev. Ron Abbott, pastor of the York Community Church in Thomson, officiating.

FULTON, Ill. — Harold Richard “Dick” Abbott, 66, of Fulton, died Wednesday at Mercy North Hospital.

Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Clinton to Harold R. and Gertrude Kooi Abbott Sr. He married Karen C. Ketelsen on Jan. 2, 1960, in Clinton.

He attended Clinton grade schools and graduated from Clinton High School.

He owned and operated Tom’s Pastry, Clinton, from 1965 to 1971 and Cottage Pastry, Fulton, from 1971 to 2002. He also was employed with Sweetheart Bakery, Clinton.

He was a member of York Community Church, Thomson, Ill. He also was involved in the community Christmas dinner in Fulton.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dixie (Bob) Shaff and Connie (Scott) Hoffman, both of Fulton; two sons, Roy (Kim) Abbott of Fulton and Ron (Claudette) Abbott of Thomson; 13 grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to the David Shaff Scholarship Fund, Focal Point Ministries or New Life Crisis Pregnancy Center.
