SERVICES: Private.

MAQUOKETA — Rae Ona Hudrlik, 77, of Maquoketa, died Friday at Briarwood Care Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Cremation rites have been accorded.

She was born July 16, 1929, in Jackson County to Thomas Vincent “Vinky” Batey and Mabel Ripperton Batey. She married Edward A. Hudrlik on March 3, 1951, in South Carolina. He died Oct. 17.

She was a 1947 graduate of Maquoketa High School.

She and her husband farmed. She also worked at Clinton Engines, Maquoketa. She taught dance and tap lessons and sold Studio Girl cosmetics. She also did housekeeping, working alongside her husband at River Village Apartments in Maquoketa before retiring in 1997.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew.

Survivors include her children, Rue Lain (Ron) Storlie of Davenport, Kevin Hudrlik of Maquoketa, Stevin (Mary Lou) Hudrlik of Andrew, Deona (Tom) Casel of Maquoketa and Marty (Mary Carole) Hudrlik of Maquoketa; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
