Edward V. McGrath, 88, died Wednesday at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Polo.
The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Woodin Funeral Home, Milledgeville followed by mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church Sterling where Mr. McGrath was a member. The Rev. Robert Knott will officiate with burial in St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is after 7 p.m. Friday with the Rosary at 8 p.m.
Mr. McGrath was born May 23, 1885, near Andover, Iowa to John and Margaret Dolan McGrath. he married Pearl Richardson Diehl on Dec. 27, 1926, and the couple moved to Milledgeville where they farmed land that had been in Mr. McGrath's family since 1864. He was a former president of the Milledgeville Chamber of Commerce and was president of Milledgeville's First Cheese Day.
Survivors include nieces and nephews. His wife, two brothers and three sisters preceeded him in death.
