Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Father John Stack officiating.

CLINTON — Richard “Doc” Decker, 69, of Clinton, died Thursday near Davenport.

Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post 28.

Pallbearers will be Jesse and Kelly Jacobs, Jami and Sean Ohrt, Jayson Decker, Jaci DaRonco, Chris DaRonco, MacKenzie DaRonco, Brady Jacobs, Joyce Brown, Jeff and Sheila Small, Larry Petersen and Joyce Gilbert.

He was born March 11, 1937, in Clinton to David and Emily Koons Decker. He married Joanne M. Dostal on Jan. 17, 1959, at Fort Snelling, Minn.; she died May 28, 2006.

He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until he was honorably discharged on Dec. 31, 1959, at Fort Snelling.

He was employed at Dairy Pak in Clinton. He later was employed with Hawkeye Chemical in the maintenance department, from 1963 until his retirement in 2000.

He was a member of Clinton AMVETS and was a former member of the Clinton Moose Lodge 363.

Survivors include two sons: Kevin (Julie) Decker of Camanche, and Ken (Cindy) Decker of Clinton; a daughter: Pam (Duane) Reedy of Clinton, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.

Death date: Oct. 26, 2006.
