Florence A Handy

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

CLINTON — Florence A Handy, 79, of Clinton, died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital.

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rick Persinger, Derek Jenkins, Steve Bratthauer, Chuck Fenzel, Arnie Fenzel and John Huling.

She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in Clinton to John and Bernice Witt Fenzel. She married Robert A. Handy on July 6, 1946, in Camanche. He died in 1980.

She was a 1946 graduate of Lyons High School.

She was employed with the Clinton Garment Factory for 22 years before retiring in 1985.

She was a member of AMVETS Women’s Auxiliary Post 28.

Survivors include one son, John (Julie) Handy of Clinton; one daughter, Roberta “Robbi” (John) Jenkins of Clinton; two grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold (Inez) Fenzel of Clinton and Donald (Gloria) Fenzel of Grey Eagle, Minn.; and three sisters, Vera Noordt of Clinton, Shirley Leon of Cedar Rapids and Nancy Housenga of Greenfield, Ind.

Memorials may be made to the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.

Death date: Oct. 21, 2006
