Services: The body was cremated and he was buried at sea. The Neptune Society was in charge of arrangements.
SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Bruce C. Coder, 72, died Sunday in San Marcos.
He was born June 6, 1934, in Clinton to Wayne and Mary Dolak Coder. He married Emily Whitehead and then Shirley Petersen.
He attended Clinton High School, Clinton Community College and the University of Southern California.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Special Forces Unit for three years.
He started Business Management Systems in Newport Beach, Calif. After selling his business, he was a developer in the southern California area.
Survivors include a special friend, Madeline Brown of Georgetown, Texas; three children, Bruce Coder Murphy of Arkansas, Michael Coder Murphy of Tennessee and Leslie Coder Murphy of Kentucky; five grandchildren; his stepmother, Darlene Coder of Clinton; and five brothers, Dennis of Laguna Beach, Calif, Thomas, Steven and James of Clinton, and Ronald of DeWitt.
Condolences can be made to Darlene Coder, 211 Fayette St., Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
