Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Savanna. Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, is handling arrangements.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Thomas Moe officiating.7

SAVANNA, Ill. — Louise Madsen Ritenour, 90, of Savanna, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll, Ill.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, Ill.

She was born Nov. 24, 1915, in Savanna to Albert and Ada Freeman Madsen. She married Don B. Ritenour on July 17, 1947, in Peoria, Ill. He died in 1980.

She was a 1933 graduate of Savanna High School and a 1947 graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing in Freeport.

She was a nurse for 35 years and she and her husband farmed in Stephenson and Carroll counties for many years. Upon retirement they moved to Hot Springs, Ark.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Savanna.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Rita (William) Tallman of Freeport; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Ralph “Tom” Madsen of Glendale, Calif., and Huber “Corky” (Beverly) Madsen of Billings, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one stepson, one sister, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
